奖助金 are a type of gift aid that are awarded based on financial need. Unlike 贷款, grants are not repaid. The Office of University 奖学金 and Financial 援助 will assess student eligibility for any grants if a FAFSA is filed on or before the priority deadline March 1, 2023 for the 2023-2024 award year.

The office will notify of grant eligiblity in the form of a Financial 援助 Award notice letter.

Virginia Tech offers several types of grants through the Federal and State governments as well as other organizations.

A college education is an important investment and 贷款 are made available from the Federal and private sectors to assist with the cost. 学生 and parent 贷款 must be repaid. By filing a FAFSA, students and parents may be eligible for 贷款 offered through the Federal Direct Loan Program. 学生 and families may also seek borrowing opportunities through private banks, 信用合作社, and student lending companies.
