艺术历史 is a Humanities discipline that examines the forms, 上下文, and meaning of visual and material culture throughout history as part of the cultural record of human achievement. The 艺术历史 minor provides a framework to analyze and understand the visual world around us, emphasizing skills in visual literacy, 近看, 写作, and critical thinking that complement any major. The minor consists of 18 hours (6 classes) of courses that introduce students to the study of the visual arts through basic approaches to the field. The 18 hours are distributed among 2 Survey of 艺术历史 courses (ART 2385 and ART 2386), 2 elective 艺术历史 period courses at the 3000 level, and 2 Special Topics in 艺术历史 courses at the 4000 level.
